MGR. VERONIKA HŮLKOVÁ

My story

On many occasions in my life, I have heard that I have to be realistic, that dreams are meant to remain just dreams, that I cannot expect “so much” at work- to have a great boss or nice colleagues with whom I enjoy working – and that it happens once in a blue moon that you have a dream job. I have worked as a lawyer for many years and sometimes, I found myself questioning whether I was truly making an impact in a way that resonated with my heart.

During my career, I have met many inspiring people who loved their job, and when I followed their life stories, it confirmed my long held belief that our work does not have to be a boring job that we have to endure until retirement. At the same time, I realized that you can’t look for your dream job and career just by “trial and error”, and that you need to have a plan and know why and where you are going.

In time, I have learned that our beliefs can change, that we can make decisions about our careers throughout our whole life, and that we can have more than one career. I became a yoga teacher, and I started giving classes to my colleagues who were experiencing a lot of stress at work, and my yoga classes brought smiles back to their faces. At that moment, I knew that success in career and in life can be measured in different ways. I pursued certifications in career counselling and for the first time in a long time, I felt a deep sense of purpose. I strongly believe that each of us is unique, and we can have meaningful careers and succeed in what we are good at.

Today, as a career counsellor, I help students and my clients to navigate the often-overwhelming world of career choices and opportunities. I support them through self-discovery exercises, personality assessments, and meaningful conversations, so they can find careers aligned with their strengths and aspirations. I love what I do, and you can have a meaningful career too, if you start your journey today!

Sessions with Veronika have helped me visualise myself not only in terms of what I would like to study, but also as a person. I enjoyed the idea of creating a vision board to realise things that you see and like from your day to day life. Having something physically on paper helped me to create connections and understand better in what direction I wanted to head.

Kyra P.
student of international school in Brussels

How did the career guidance support help you?
It really helped me figure out a more specific direction and think a bit deeper about what I actually want and what I’m capable of. I started to understand myself better — not just what sounds cool, but what actually fits me. It made things a lot clearer and helped me feel more focused.
Why would you recommend it to someone else?
Because at our age, choosing a career is honestly super confusing. Everyone expects something from you, there’s pressure from all sides, and you don’t always know who you are or what you want yet. Career guidance really helps in that situation — there’s no pressure, the atmosphere is chill, and you get to reflect on your goals with someone who actually knows what they’re doing. It feels safe and useful, and you end up with more concrete answers.
What was your biggest AHA moment?
I wouldn’t say it was one big moment — more like a process. But at some point I started feeling more confident in my choice, and I realized I was heading in the right direction. That felt really good and gave me a sense of reassurance.

I would recommend Veronika as a career coach. She’s kind, professional, and actually listens. She never pushed me or made me feel like I had to have everything figured out — instead, she helped me understand myself better and explore my options. I’d 100% recommend her to anyone who’s feeling a bit lost.

Dasha Y.
student of the European school in Brussels

We had the pleasure of welcoming Veronika to our school as a visiting career counselor for our eighth and ninth-grade students. Her interactive workshop was truly inspiring and helped students broaden their perspectives on choosing a future profession and educational path. The session was packed with valuable insights on how students can make informed career decisions. Veronika introduced engaging techniques and interactive activities that encouraged students to explore their interests, strengths, and values—key elements in making confident choices about their future.
Her engaging and practically oriented approach kept students actively involved, making them think critically about their skills and how they connect to potential career paths. The workshop was both enriching and highly beneficial, leaving a lasting impact on our students. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in future.

Career counselling with Veronika gave me the clarity I needed to confidently choose my college path and explore career options that truly align with my interests. Through our sessions, I was able to identify what matters to me most in my life and how that translates into my future profession. I recommend this coaching to anyone who feels uncertain about their career direction—whether you have no idea what to study or you feel overwhelmed by too many interests. Veronika’s guidance makes the decision-making process so much easier!

Jakub W.
student of EEB3 in Brussels, 17 years old

Before meeting Veronika, I felt lost about my future—I had no idea what career path suited me or which direction to take after primary school. But through career counseling, everything became much clearer. Veronika helped me discover what I truly enjoy, what excites me, and what I’m naturally good at. She introduced me to different career options and study paths that matched my strengths and interests, making it so much easier to choose the right secondary school. The uncertainty and stress I once felt disappeared, and I finally felt confident about my next steps.
If you’re feeling unsure about your future, I can’t recommend career counseling with Veronika enough. It’s an eye-opening experience that helps you make informed decisions and move forward with confidence!” (Zuzka G., 14 years old, student in Zlín)”
“My consultation with Veronika helped me to understand better which field of study I wanted to pursue. It not only expanded my understanding of potential career paths but also freed me from limiting beliefs about work and success. Through our sessions, I was able to see new possibilities and truly recognize what I wanted for my future.
I highly recommend career counselling with Veronika—not just for those who feel lost about their next steps, but also for those who have a plan and want to refine and strengthen their vision.

Katka P.
student of Faculty of Architecture, ČVUT University, 19 years old

During my career counselling sessions with Veronika, I sought clarity on both my field of study and the most suitable education system for my university journey. Through a series of insightful activities, I gained a deeper understanding of my academic and professional priorities—what is important in my studies and future career, as well as what I wish to avoid. Some of the activities were eye-opening, making me realize things I hadn’t even thought about before. I studied high school in three different countries, in three different education systems and I had a general idea of my field of interest, but selecting the right system for my university studies was a critical decision. Through my consultations with Veronika, I was able to reach a well-informed decision with confidence. Veronika listens with empathy, and she does not impose anything but rather guides and supports the client on his/her journey. I have already made up my mind, and I am confident that I made the right decision.

Valerie T.
student of Maastricht University, 18 years old

It is certainly useful to go through such coaching before choosing a university. In my last year of high school, I didn’t think much about my career choices and l just let everything flow, which then caught me off guard in my first year of university studies. It is important to clarify what your general expectations from work are and to get rid of family stereotypes. The support and sessions with Veronika helped me to create specific goals and clarify my career choices. I was able to create an action plan, and I had follow-up on my progress which kept me motivated to reach my goal.

Albert
student of London School of Economics and Political Science, 25 years old

Veronika’s workshop was a valuable experience for our graduating students, helping them deeply reflect on their professional direction and future studies. During the workshop students had the opportunity to work on their individual career path strategies, gaining clarity on their options and reflecting on different careers they can choose from. Veronika fostered engaging discussions on top emerging jobs and provided practical tools to guide students toward a fulfilling life. The workshop not only broadened their understanding of various professions but also empowered them to make informed decisions about their future.

Our school had the pleasure of working with Veronika to guide students in discovering their future career paths. Many young people struggle to find out what they really want to do in their professional life—they may know what they enjoy but haven’t yet explored it in a meaningful way. This is where Veronika’s workshop made a real impact. Through interactive and introspective techniques, students experienced their “AHA moment,” gaining clarity and structure in their thoughts. As a result, many now approach the choice of future studies with a clearer vision and a broader perspective. These workshops have proven invaluable, and we look forward to continuing them.
